Carpay Shop app — account and data deletion
You can delete your Carpay Shop app data yourself, or ask us to delete it for you. Both options are described below.
Delete it yourself, in the app
Open the Carpay Shop app, go to the Settings tab, and tap “Delete account & data” at the bottom. Confirm, and the deletion happens immediately — you do not have to contact us and you do not have to wait for a reply.
If you no longer have the app installed
Email support@carpay.com from the email address you gave us, or call (747) 277-2474, and ask us to delete your Carpay Shop data. If you never gave us an email address, include the phone number you used when you inquired about a car so we can find your records. We may ask you to confirm a detail of your inquiry before deleting, so that nobody can erase someone else’s records.
What gets deleted
Deleting from the app removes the record of your device and everything attached to it:
- your saved cars (favorites)
- your saved searches and their alerts
- the budget you entered — your down payment, monthly payment, and ZIP code
- your notification settings and push token, so notifications stop
- your message history with the Carpay team
The app also clears the copy it keeps on your phone, and starts fresh as a brand-new device the next time you open it.
What we keep, and why
If you sent an inquiry about a car, the record of that inquiry is not erased by deleting your app data. Two reasons: we already passed your contact information to that dealer, and we have to keep records of what was sent and what you consented to. That is described in the Retention section of our Privacy Policy at https://shop.carpay.com/privacy.
A dealer who already received your inquiry has their own copy of it. Carpay cannot delete records held by a dealer. To ask a dealer to delete your information, contact the dealer directly.
If you want your inquiry records deleted as well, email support@carpay.com and say so. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to have that information deleted, subject to the legal exceptions described in our Privacy Policy — we will tell you what we can and cannot remove, and why.
How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate. Emailed requests are handled as described in our Privacy Policy; we will confirm when it is done.
